These are the priorities that guide Philip Andrew Hamilton in his campaign for the Virginia State Senate. While Philip is running to represent the people of District 11, these issues reflect his vision for a stronger, freer, and more prosperous Virginia. Each position is grounded in conservative principles, a commitment to accountability, and a belief that our government should work for the people — not the other way around.
Philip Andrew Hamilton will oppose efforts to gerrymander Virginia House of Delegates, Virginia Senate, and U.S. House districts more frequently than once every ten years. He also opposes the Democrats’ push to repeal the 2020 Constitutional Amendment that established a bipartisan commission for redistricting fairness.
Philip Hamilton opposes the proposed Constitutional Amendment enshrining abortion up until the point of birth. Instead, he believes the Virginia General Assembly should provide tax credits to pregnancy centers and direct additional resources to single mothers so they can care for their children once they are born.
Philip Hamilton opposes the proposed Constitutional Amendment that would enshrine same-sex marriage as a fundamental right. He notes that county clerk Kim Davis of Kentucky is currently challenging the 2015 U.S. Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, which could overturn the legality of same-sex marriage nationwide.
Philip Hamilton will oppose measures that support uncapped growth of data centers and solar farms in Virginia. With the highest number of data centers in the country, the state’s power grids need careful management. Philip will introduce legislation requiring a review to ensure new facilities can be sustainably supported before approval.
Philip Hamilton will oppose any efforts to repeal existing right-to-work laws. He believes these laws protect the freedom of Virginia workers and support a balanced labor market that benefits both employees and employers.
Philip Hamilton supports reinstating the death penalty in Virginia and will introduce legislation making the illegal distribution of fentanyl punishable by death.
Philip Hamilton will support a ban on gender reassignment surgeries for anyone under the age of 19, in accordance with President Donald Trump’s executive order on this issue.
Philip Hamilton supports constitutional carry laws and will work to diminish the existence of gun-free zones. He believes the Second Amendment principle of “shall not be infringed” must be reestablished in our Commonwealth.
Philip Hamilton will support abolishing the car tax, reducing income taxes, and other measures that lessen the tax burden on Virginians. He also supports maintaining tax credits from the Youngkin administration to attract new businesses and sustain Virginia’s budget surplus.
Philip Hamilton supports abolishing state-run ABC liquor stores, as previously proposed by Delegate Nick Freitas in House Bill 328 (2022). He believes government should not be in the business of selling alcohol — or any other product — because private enterprise always performs better than socialism and government control.
